You need a non linear opening mechanism to help with the just off idle throttle actuation. Almost logarithmic.

Yeah, I built my own bell crank for the throttle shaft on my TWM's. It did help a bit, but ultimately the 45's were just a bit too big for a SOHC 2.0L with 8.5:1 compression and a bigger cam.
Adding the Franco automatically adjusting timing gear help flatten the power curve with that lumpy cam. Set it to -3 degrees from idle to 3500 and then it switches to +7 degrees like a mechanical advance distributor. Cool old school hot rod tech.
Here's some pics of the Tuned intake I built for the TWM ITB's along with the throttle cam (needs less offset for the initial pedal throw.)
