Selling the wife's 01 Accord (beige on tan...) and have someone should be buying it tomorrow.
She misses the WRX we had and wanted a wagon. This is a one owner, pristine WRX, no modifications. Comes with an extra set of snow tires, all kinds of detail and maintenance goodies, roof rack, etc. Was going to get her a cheaper one but it was a smokers car and didn't want that with the little one.
I will be putting it through a DC area rallyx though when they aren't sold out!
And I know I bashed my last WRX but that was a brand new car with the squeaks and rattles of a car with 100k miles. This one is way cheaper and expected to have those noises!
Plus it will make a great winter beater for our time in the North.
And thanks Woodrow
very cool. I like the wagons too

I'd say you're making an excellent choice, sir.
nice. though I think WDCR rally-x is booked up with blue subies, lol. Paint it something wild so you can find your car in the paddock area ;)
Looks good. I got one, a couple months ago, too.

haha, I've got something planned for that. It is an 02 bugeye. We'll be using this for road trips and stuff from now on too. Putting way too many miles on my other ride and the Accord was way boring to drive.
Realminidrive thats nice!

this is my favorite body style
Another shot of it.
Any recommendations on what to look out for on higher mileage ones?

Spun bearings.
It will be hilarious in 10 years when everyone is talking about the current gen WRX like this.
Looks like a nice ride

BTW, thanks for letting me drive your current gen at the last autocross. I had a good time despite only 2 runs (3rd was red flagged because of someone else). And the first I was taking it really easy learning the car. And the second I forgot to turn traction control off, which probably cost me about 3 seconds
In any case, I've put that car on my list of "Cars I might someday own because they are fun to drive and practical and potentially competitive in autocross".

Hahahaha
No cones - I loved the performance aspect and looks of the 2012 WRX I had. I hated the build quality and spun bearings.

Front subframe rust if it has ever seen anything other than AZ weather. Radiator (plastic cracks) and thermostat (stuck) should be done if not already. The PS pump will probably start leaking like mad (but it's easily rebuild able) and the system is a pain to bleed because it uses ATF. The valve cover gasket on the passenger side (next to the turbo) will probably leak a little because they get cooked by the turbo. And speaking of the turbo, if the uppipe hasn't been gutted, it probably shagged by now.
Enjoy.
If it’s going to see below 35 degree temps the rubber hoses going to the fuel rails will leak if they have not been replace already.
Thanks for the info guys. I started tearing into it a bit this morning. Seems like the t-stat has been replaced but the other stuff I may have to get at.
I may look at doing a 3rd gen swap as well. LSx would be awesome and all but it would most likely be easier to swap the same type of engine.

Yes and that stinks awful bad. Mine was still covered on warranty this winter by Subaru Canada.
Here is my beasty, I picked it up about 1 1/2 years ago with 60k miles on it for under a grand.

Yup. Forgot about the time when it was 15 degrees out and all the fuel lines going to my fuel rail started puking all over my hot engine. Yeah, that happens. Make sure you fix that.
Also, look out for loose driver's seats or cracked seat tracks. Mine snapped on me while driving. That was fun.
Just out of curiosity, where exactly is the t-stat located on these?
Oh man dirtyimpreza is giving me bad ideas http://www.dirtyimpreza.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24190
Holy crap under a grand? You could make a killing on profit selling it here in the states. What the hell was it missing?

It was from a friend who isn't hurting for money and it was his winter car. I am dealing with some rust issues (see the white near the back wheels) but yes he made me a smokin deal.
It even came with Cobb AP V1 and a full SS turbo back exhaust.
BTW love the WRB wagon - I think the early WRX's actually looked better in the wagon - new ones - not so much!
