Is that article online? I need a new one as my cheapo isn't working. And if it isn't online, wasn't the general consensus of the article to just buy something like I have linked below?

I've always preferred the old dial gauges. I've used the same one for 10 years, and it's still accurate (check it periodically against other gauges).

This would be my pick.

I have a couple of the $1.99 HF dial deals and they don't have great resolution, but they aren't that inaccurate. Easily within a pound or two when compared to another gauge.

EDIT- Never ever ever get anything with plastics in it for the body, gauge, or head.

Agreed re: the plastics. No experience with the HF gauges, but I'm going to pick up a few next time I'm there. Always good to have multiples of those things around.
