Now that I got the 15 x 7s for the Soccer Mom Challenge Safari I need to get tires. Need them to help lower the van so 50 series or less I suppose. Ideas? Don't think Tirerack's computer will help me out here.

SM7s were my first thought because they are so easy to get used but not sure they'll be wide enough for you.

That was my thought. A slight squeeze, but surely it puts a little more rubber on the ground, and the load rating will be more in line with the van's weight.

That's A LOT of squeeze. I'd recommend 195/50/15s on a 15x7. That's the same setup I have on the Corolla.

Second this. It's a 205/50 15 so should fit better than the 225 on a 7" rim. A full set of take-offs are available from various sources for about $250 shipped.

Why do they look like they've been cooked into hockey pucks?

I was looking at the tread. Being in Florida I wouldn't know what a hockey puck looks like but I understand baked for sure. Can you educate me?
The "booger" on this looks suspect
And at second glance this one looks weird on the right side.
I don't know ... was I expecting to much for a set of $75 Challenge tires?
The "booger" as you put it is OPR (other people's rubber). Common to pick up with hot tires when racing. It looks like those have a build date of 11-15 so not too old. I'd ask about heat cycles but for a minivan they probably have more grip than you'll be able to use.
Google John Burget Tires and give him a call. He may have something that would work.
In reply to KyAllroad:
Yes, either heat cycled or over-heated/over-driven into hockey pucks, as in as-hard-as-a-hockey puck; = hardened to the point of low grip.
