I was going to call this thread "flat spotted tires" but that could have a different meaning.

So, the Terrarium sat for a while on soft tires. The tires were brand new and over the course of a year or two they went soft, (go figure, ha). There are no signs of any dry rot or cracks in the sidewalls and the tires hold air, (all four currently at 30 psi) but there are still visible flat spots and they are definitely noticeable on the road.

My question is....is there anything I can do to get them round again (maybe way over inflate them while they're off the car) or are they shot?

Not sure about tires that have sat that long, but I've bought cars that sat for several months, and the flat spot was so bad that the whole car would shake after about 60km/hr or so. With steady use, they usually mostly come back in my experience.

what doc said; my dads mustang will usually sit for a couple of weeks to months between drives, and will wobble and shake until the tires come up to temp. i can't imagine that the tires have been heat cycled many times since you brought the car home

that was common a long time ago when we had plain old polyester/rayon tires, more common when the temps were low, but went away once the tires warmed up. When the weather was really cold, they could get that way overnight.

I remember it being for the first few miles or so, then the whump-whump feel would go away.

Pin throttle to rev limit, release clutch briskly, rotate tires, repeat.
