I'm thinking about going. Anyone else doing the same?
As long as I get the brakes fixed on my truck, that's the plan. I just wanted to know if I'd see any of the hive there. I'm liking that participants can ride together. I wouldn't mind having someone who has been on that track in the right seat for a couple laps.
They've made it abundantly clear I'm not welcome until I get a roll bar or a nonconvertible, through rules. I've never actually been there. I'd love to go, but a roll bar isn't really in the cards right now.
I'm pretty sure I'm not going, but as I have less than zero clue what 'TNiA PIRC' means I can't be 100% sure!

If you were going, you'd probably know that it's "Track Night in America, Pittsburgh International Racing Complex". So, now that you know what it is, you're coming?

Cool, so what's wrong with 'Track Night in America, Pittsburgh International Racing Complex May 18th' as a thread title?
So at $150 they seem reasonable for prices these days. Are Boxsters with factory roll hoops allowed? Not that I'll have the car back or go to Pittsburgh then, but they do have some in Michigan.

If I lived in the neighborhood, and was unaware of the event, knowing what it was might give me useful information so I could make a plan.

New convertible rule for the year: 2006 and newer vehicles with factory rollover protection ok. Pre 2005 need SCCA spec roll bar

Ah, but if you lived in the neighborhood, you'd probably know what "PIRC" meant, 'cuz you'd probably have been there.

Screwed by scca again. 99 986 Boxster has the same roll protection as the 06 987 but the 987 is magically safer and not in need extra roll over protection.

You really could have stopped there, and everyone on this board would have been able to sympathize with you in their own private way
That sucks..

Well. I survived PittRace. The main challenge was, of course, the proper use of little tiny brakes and way too much horsepower for the tires. Damn, that track is bumpy. It's also interesting that they've already had to patch the line on a couple of the corners on the new section.
So, how much worse (from a little brake having standpoint) than PittRace is Watkins Glen?
Turn 1 at Watkins and pirc are about the same breaking. Turn 10 at pirc is probably harder than anywhere at watkins.
Pretty similar on brakes really. Watkins is faster, but you aren't slowing as much. The amount of speed you scrub off in the braking zones is pretty similar.
