Don't try to make it Locost, make it expensive and worth it. Build replicas/recreations, not kits. Locost manufacturers all have one thing in common: they're out of business.

As for the "GTO Miata", are you thinking of the old Italia? Based on a NART Spider. The angle of the photograph makes a big difference, the rear fenders are about 1" wider due to the fiberglass overlay. I put a set of 1" spacers on one of those and it helped the car quite a bit visually. I've never seen a GTO replica based on a Miata, only 240Z ones.

There's one floating around out there that looks DAMN GOOD (same kit, but whomever did the conversion did a beautiful job), but here's what i can find quickly for the moment.

The rear 3/4 view doesn't quite work for me. A little too bulbous looking.

Thank you. I saw both versions of the Roadster Garage replica at the Tokyo Motor Salon about 4 years ago and met the owner of the company. The coupe in particular was beautilful. The whole project was clearly a labor for those involved. I don't they were making any real money.
