I hadnt even opened the thread yet and he popped into my head. Strange how that works.
Definitely interesting, but that is a lot of money for totally uncharted territory. I have seen used ex-F1 motors going for a similar price. At least he includes a shot of the bellhousing pattern!
Hasn't his Celica not moved in like 4 years? He's all Mazda/Escort now. We need a new Toyota fanboi.

IIRC it's been two. And he has a 3sGTE that's scheduled to be stroker'd and boosted to the heavens soonish, as far as I know as son as the Escort is on the road.
spend less, get more?

I was thinking it was a lot of money for not very much power and what I would assume is a limited aftermarket. It's cool as hell and all, but it makes sticking a Jag V12 in something seem sensible by comparison.

It hurts.
I purchased a 3sgte a month or two ago. I've not been sitting dormant.
This motor is interesting, though...

Oh cool, I didn't know you had bought a motor. Last I read you were thinking of kicking the old girl to the curb.

I still go back and forth on that, but i'm just forcing myself to finish it now. Been too long, i remember that it was a special car to me, just need to at least have the option to remember WHY before i get rid of it.
Expect to see a lot of the things i've learned with the Escort show up on the Celica.... just..... more. On steroids.
It's like it has two of everything! Even the ECU looks like it is oreo'd.
That's a lot of jack for a curiosity. I bet 280hp is the 'published' horsepower.

Yep... the ECU is in fact two ECUs.
I'm not sure what motors they siamesed.... but i'm kindof thinking it's two 1jzs...
Speculations are that Top Secret got 1000hp out of an unopened one of these.
I'm curious as to why the transmission pan looks like it's been opened and re-sealed with only 30~40k miles on it. That's a lot of coin for something you can't hear run and has no support here in the states.
There's no way the miles are that low, that's for sure.
I believe they put those in super high end (think Presidential model) limos. Low miles would be expected.
Never even knew a toyota v12 existed.

Oh yeah.... that definitely sounds like two 1jzs....
So much want.

Hrmmm... i was close with the "two 1jzs" comment!
That V8 celica that he's talking about belongs to Justen Simpson.

Needs to go into a Ultima GTR
That needs to go in a Jag. Imagine a reliable V12, hard to believe.
Wishing I had done THIS swap in the Vic... LOL
That would look SO good in the Jensenator.
