I don't know anything about TPMS sensors other than the second set of stock wheels & tires I got for my FRS were sensed within a few miles after being put on the car.

I just had new tires installed on my newest fleet addition and so I ordered new TPMS sensors from RockAuto and had them installed at the same time.  Shop called and said they could not get the sensors to initialize and I would need to take it to the Chevy dealer for that...

The car is an '06 Infiniti G35 sedan.  The TPMS sensors are ACDelco and were listed on RockAuto when searching by vehicle, so I "assumed" that they would work without issue.  Also, the 2 decent techs at the shop that installed the tires and TPMS monitors quit earlier this week so I may be dealing with a dull knife or an overworked crew.

Any ideas?  I have only driven the car about 3 miles home from the shop.  Will have an alignment done tomorrow and after that I will try a longer drive to see if they get "sensed" but I'm not sure if there is some compatibility issue or a special procedure to follow.  My google-fu is weak and all I can find is about the OEM sensors on the Infiniti forums.

You need someone who has a tpms machine and a clue.

I've had pretty good luck with Discount Tire. Our local one has a tool that covers most makes & models and the charge is usually nominal (sometimes free!).

Fun fact: Their tool didn't work on my BRZ but we tried it as an FRS and that fooled it.

I really dislike this whole technology. It adds nothing good to my life.

Got these programed today with my alignment. Apparently the folks that put them on yesterday did not clear out or delete the old ones from the system. Sounds to me like they didn't do anything other than install the new sensors & say "I can't get them programed"...
