Just noticing this now that it is cold, do not remember it from years past but maybe I'm forgetful. When my car is stone cold first thing in the morning, as i depress the clutch coming OUT of 1st and 2nd gear only, i get a audible but not palpable clunk. As soon as the clutch disengages its just a metallic thwack/clunk/thud no noise going into the next gear or releasing the clutch....

Once warmed up it goes away instantly. Just started since weather got below freezing over night. Is this just gear slap from really thick and cold lubricant?

Huh I wanted to see if anyone else had suggestions, but I'm stumped too. Just to get a better idea of what's going on here, is the noise the same if you disengage under accel, decel and steady cruise?

Yes the noise is pretty much identical, I cannot comment onHARD acceleration becauseb y the time im willing to take it above 50% throttle or 3K rpm the engine is warm and the noise goes away, but even if i ease of the throttle and clutch its there...
