Rock Auto's ridiculous shipping price increase per-part has made them more expensive than even specialty stores. I went from buying hundreds a month, to tens, to nothing, to now I don't even bother to check.

My NAPA used to be locally owned and a little grungy, so it was awesome. No computers, just old school catalog racks. Not it's all spic-and-span clean with computers and they tossed all the books. Which means now they only have parts for the 2 new cars and everything has to be ordered from the warehouse.

The Schmuck's finally changed to O'Reilly's and actually seems to be pretty good. Anybody that has AMC parts on the shelf is doing good in my book.

I've been impressed with the Schuck's O'Reilly transition. The staff at the Seattle-area stores I've been to have been much more attentive (with better attitudes) and knowledgeable than most of the Schuck's people in the past. I'm seeing more parts variety, too.

Hearing people write about shipping from Rock Auto makes me appreciate eEuroparts.com even more: free 3-day shipping from CT to WA on orders over $49. They sell parts for Saab, Volvo, BMW/MINI. Only problem I've ever had is with their rebuilt calipers -- whoever rebuilds them does a lousy job. Other than that, no complaints.

This has been my experience as well. Identical mfg as the original 20 year old parking brake and speedo cables on my MR2.

I've probably placed 100 orders with them, with no issues. One time they sent me a GROSS of brake pads instead of 1 box. I called them to return and they told me to keep them.

Two things that bother me about Rock Auto..... 1...buying mulitple parts that come from multiple wharehoses means you pay more for shipping

2...find out details about a certain part.....for that reason I have three extra water pump gaskets for my truck.

I buy from NAPA often cuz they give me a AAA discount, they are 2 miles from the house and are open until 10pm, and returning parts is not a problem.

That being said there are a few other vendors I try to purchase from to support their business (parts4vws.com & metric autoparts).

I use rockauto a lot but they do have issues with parts not always matching. I buy a lot of C5 brake rotors from them. If I have a doubt about fitment I go to local store.
