So, I keep checking this site: http://scca-chicago.com/chicago-scca-solo/ Hoping to see the 2015 schedule of events.
Keep seeing nothing but old 2014 events.
Last year the first even was April 4-5 (learning curve) and first real event April 13th... I guess I was expecting a similar schedule this year.
Am I looking in the right spot? What gives?

Announcements March 30, 2015
Schedule - We have not been able to secure a contract with Route 66 which is painful on many levels. We are working every possible solution to this situation and hope to have info available soon.
dang. Lots of problems with venues in the chicago area this year... the rockford rallyx group is having the same issues.
Maybe ill have to get involved to see if I can help find another site.

They've been searching. If you have any ideas, let them know--but it has probably already been thought of. Last I heard, they're still hoping for Route 66 to come through.
In the meantime, I think that Salt Creek has 2 events scheduled for Sears Center. Outside of that, there is the Milwaukee Region, Central Illinois Region in Peoria (http://cir-scca.org/), and Champaign County Sports Car Club in Rantoul--these guys run about 20 events a year, cannot recommend them enough.

Just saw where you are--Chicago Heights? Jump on 57, it will be about 1 hour 15 minutes to get to Rantoul. Cheap too.

Wow, yeah, good option for me. I'll have to check them out. Thanks!
I'm sure with the SCCA its not that people aren't working on it. I just found it odd, and thought an extra hand couldn't hurt. I might go up to MKE, its almost exactly 2 hours, and I used to live right there.

At one point I was doing 15+ events a year with them. Then I moved, and autocross had to take a back seat. They have a pretty good venue, although due to the surface are somewhat limited in course designs--you usually get some variation of 2 "down and backs", but they do what they can with what they have. Looks like they have 14 events at Rantoul this year, all Sat+Sun. Sunday courses are a reverse of Saturday. I think that if you run both Saturday and Sunday, and register online, and are a member, it is less than $40 for the weekend.
There is also very good competition, unless you drive a Miata and your last name ends in "orowski".
Between CVO and Windy City miatas I used to do ten or twelve a year. Never went out with scca because they classed my car way out. Hope they get a venue though, stinks to be without.

Are both of them still running at maywood?
I haven't lived there since 06, I know the miata club is going but I don't think CVO does anything anymore.
the "owskis" have sold/put away their Miata. Bartek was driving a shifter kart towards the end of last year.
There's also Tri-State Sports Car council - http://tsscc.org/
They have two events at Sears Center set in stone and a double header at Peru. The rest is contingent on the Rt. 66 schedule getting sorted out.
I ran with CCSCC in Rantoul on the 21st. First of all it was awesome to be autocrossing in Illinois in March, but secondly, yeah, the competition is pretty stout for a club that most people have never heard of. It's also in an interesting location where on certain weekends you'll get people from all the way up and east to West Michigan and South Bend to all the way south and west to St. Louis.

The "regular" from EAST Michigan--Detroit/Dearborn area (who occasionally posts here)--is a guy who helped build CCSCC to what it is today, and his family still lives there.
We used to have a guy come somewhat regularly from Minnesota, just because he liked the club. Wow, here I am calling it "we"... I don't live there anymore
drdisque, where are you located?
I'm in Chicago, 3 miles northwest of the loop.
