I have arrived and gotten all the stickers on! Competition starts tomorrow. Coming in I'm pretty confident the car and I capable of a shootout appearance. We'll see how that pans out over the next couple days.

If you ever want to take a parade lap, I know a large bosomed blonde who could stand on the decklid, hold on to the spoiler and wave to the crowd

I went to this last year. Not a bad time as a spectator.
The number of expensive trailers and transporters in the background is indicative of the level of builds you will see. That's both good and bad.

the stream last year made a big deal about how dark the infield is/was... so I apologize for maybe reading in to that too much (and perhaps not realizing how good your lighting setups was). I'll be interested to see/hear your own impressions of the course/format. Definitely pulling for you!
I was not familiar with this event so I did some googling. Very cool! And interesting track history. I also spotted this previous $2k challenge car in the parade lap photo from "King of the Mountain 1.0"

Done with morning runs. Track was partially damp so should be faster in the afternoon.
Looks like I'm sitting 15th in class so far. Pretty tight group on time around me so a few tenths can be up or down several places. I'll be trying to move up. Shootout cut off is 12th from averaged best run of today and tomorrow.

Frustrating afternoon with only going slower when I thought the car and I had another second in us this morning... dropped from 15th to 19th in MID class. Hopefully I can do better tomorrow but the shootout is looking a ways off without a hero run tomorrow. But there's about 8 of us that are really tight in class so who knows

Morning runs are in. I'm way happier with the setup reset to what I know....more slide! Too far back to to get to the shootout. I need a touch over 2 seconds as it stands. I had 1 but got a cone my 3rd run (first of the weekend).
Game plan today is don't even get out of the car. Not caring about tire pressure... they'll get where there need to be by the time temp is them. Just driving the car. Pretty sure I got in my own head yesterday and missed out on improvement.
Got my second with a clean run this afternoon. Finished out the overall in 20th so no shootout appearance. At least now I know where I stack up. If I get to come back I'll have a significant weight reduction plan. 800lbs over minimum isn't doing me any favors.
The steering rack started leaking last run anyway so add that to the list of repairs needed...
