Strictly based on looks? Yeah, the NSX takes the cake.

WHY DO HATE AMERICA?!?!
Unfortunately, $20k is "Ricers (and other 'riff-raff') can afford them" territory. Here are the only ones in ATL:
$20k, riced, auto:

$42k, riced:
http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/ctd/3751609705.html
$28k, riced to the point where I seriously want to kill this shiny happy person:

Good looking aside from the wheels, but $37k:

"Peanut buttah inturriurr" JFC. But it's $20k!

The $42k one isn't very riced... i believe that's pretty much stock with wheels. (I dont like the wheels, though.)
The $37k one has awesome wheels, you shut y0 mouf!
The $20k one can DIAF. Theft recovery and a bad clutch? NOPE NOPE NOPE.

That looks like it just has aftermarket wheels on it...

the line about a blizzard of panties should go in the rag :D
So if you give up the smexy of the nsxy for a 911, I'd have to cross shop a cayman in this price point. tough call in my case between them. what say ye, heathens?

Not a lot of caymans in the lower 20's. Some, but I worry about them a little. AC 911's are a better bet from a depreciation standpoint. The Cayman is also even further from supercar than the 911, even if it does drive better.
I'm 99% certain that my wife is bringing home a cayman the next time her company sells. Oddly, having a 911 to drive every day has made her want a Cayman even more.

LMAO!
Say What?
Are you guys actually debating cars or the actress Jeremy Clarkson chose to use in a bizarre reference about a car versus a porn star a Corvette-hater chose to use to deride them?
You confuse me. Plus, Jeremy Clarkson is an idiot.
A Corvette is my answer for performance. For the subjective 'exotic' index, I'd choose Elise/NSX, or, for a bit of a dark horse (pun!), a Testarossa - they have to be coming down, right? Eventually? Maybe?

Is that the factory hood/front bumper? If so, my bad.
I realize they're volks, which look great on a honda civic. NSX? NO!!! Besides, anyone trying to make an NSX look like a berkeleying Donk and sticking "yoyoyoyoit'smahraceteamyo" vinyl on the windshield can eat E36 M3 and die in a fire.
Agreed on the $20k turd.
Not sure a set of wheels qualifies a car as riced, even if they are in poor taste. In any case, wheels and tires can be easily changed.
In reply to tuna55:
No... they're just looking to show off their google-image searching skillz...
Testarossa's seem to have stabilized in the $50K range. A bit less for some, a bit more for nicer ones.
Personally, I really lust after a 550 Maranello, but they don't meet the OP's "engine behind the driver" criteria.

You think I need to show off my image search skills? You need to visit the GGA thread my friend.
I had 40ish K to spend and ended up with a clean 964. I still have my S197 GT, corvair and a few others. I looked at a 348 308 and a 456 but the maintenance scared me. I have driven NSX's and it couldn't be truer, unless you are pushing it, it drives like an accord. I think a new accord V6 is actually faster... and at the end of the day, it's a Honda.
911's are far more of an icon then any Honda...

which is what makes this so interesting. The 911 is such a sports car icon but is it a supercar? The NSX is an exotic and a supercar of it's day but is it worth the coin?

So I am a corvette hater because I stated in the OP "ENGINE BEHIND THE DRIVER"? Although your response is kind of expected now I looked where you are at and based on my 5 years as a POW in upstate South Carolina.
Don't be rude and call names when it is painfully obvious that you aren't following the spirit of the thread.

This particular comparison looks like crack whore vs. drag queen.
Given the appropriate protection, i'd probably have to give a slight nod to the crack whore, depending on the state of dental hygiene.
