I am aware that the one with BBS's has BBS's. I was referring to the one with freakin' 20" Volks, which are Volks, smartass. Yeah, that red one is nice aside from the BBS's.

You guys are taking benchberkeleying to a whole new level.

Oh see... i didn't recognize the wheels on the grey one as Volks, so that's my bad.

As far as quality goes, there is another thread somewhere with better choices than either...
tuna55 wrote: Esprit, 308 and 914 should be on your list.
Esprit & 308 - yes. While somewhat ho-hum in the performance dept today, they were supercars of their time.
914? A supercar? No. Capable? Yes. But not a supercar. Not then. Not now.
I will take the neutral stance and suggest the OP drive a good example of each and buy which ever he likes better.
Flight Service wrote: The 308 and Mondial fall into that category.
Into what category? The 308 to me is one of high points in Ferraris history and in all honesty the Ferrari I would be most likely to buy if I had the money (well minus the 288 GTO).
Type Q - I'm disappointed. Where's your blind adherence to preconceived notions and misguided preferences? This is a thread about cars after all.
NSX.
'Cause I like them more. Don't care about the rest. Nuff said.

That is the 2nd lowered 964 I've seen recently, and neither is helping quell the lust I already have for them.

I am sorry. I got sucked into feeling like an adult. I realize it really DOES matter how bunch of Dorks on an online forum think you should spend your money.
In reply to poopshovel: true. If $20K really is the limit then I think I'd take a much closer look at a few AC 911s.
Then again, I'd probably just wait until I found a decent $25K NSX. Did anyone see my crak pipe around?
poopshovel wrote: Relevant: No one has posted a link to a $20k NSX that isn't a turd.
Or 964 or pretty much any of the cars mentioned but...
Y u brin logic in dis argument?
(it hurt my head to try to write that)

Right, but the only reason I didn't post a list of $20k AC 911's in GOOD shape in ATL is because the list is as long as my freakin' arm. So it's kind of tough to say "which would you buy for $20k" when there are no nice NSXs in the $20k range, and like I said earlier, there is WAAAAAY more performance available in that $30k range (where the nice NSXs are,) at which point you're putting "rare and sexy" way ahead of "supercar performance." I'm not saying the occasional $20k NSX doesn't come up. I've seen them. But it's been a REALLY long time since I've seen a nice one in that range.
Just an observation.
In reply to poopshovel:
Granted. I was kinda ASSuming (maybe wrongly) we were talking about the 964 (and not Aircooled 911s in general but even the '80s models have gone up quite a bit) in particular which seem to all run more then $20k IIRC.

Engine behind the seat
$47,995 of obnoxious childhood dreams, Engine also behind the seat.

JIMP. Yeah, my "attainable dream car" sequence has pretty much gone Grand National--->Pantera--->308/328--->NSX--->Elise/Exige - with 911 becoming a recent contender.

How about this one? Does this help?
My son and I cruising Deals Gap. My wife just got home from work in it and I'm just about to take the keys to drive my son to soccer. Supercars aren't this practical.

You can still find 964's with reasonable miles for under $20k. We found ours for a bit over $13k + tax last summer - it needed a bit of love, but nothing extreme. I love it, but it's not a 'supercar'. Having a 911 has been a LONG time dream of mine.
