I really like this non-traditional transmission mount design that Vorshlag does with their Ls FRS swap. Wondering if it would work with a NA Miata?

That's the sort of design we use in the NC Miata swaps. It does rely on some strength in the tunnel.

Found it! Looks rather elegant I would have to say. I am going to guess that the large flatwashers on either side represent some kind of inner bracing. Tunnel looks larger than the NA also.
I was looking at the rather broad plates that Vorshlag use and going the same as a way to distribute the load. No real feel for the strenght of the Miata tunnel at this point. Maybe some re-enforcing inside along the floor to tunnel transition.
Sure opens up some space for exhaust bits. And it looks cool!
We looked at this sort of mount for the ND project, but the packaging wouldn't let it work. That car is TIGHT.
I've always wanted to build one of these for the NA/NB to allow me to use a different diff in the back, but never got around to cutting metal.
The "large flat washers" you think you can see in the picture are mounts for a factory brace. There's no special bracing that's invisible IIRC.

OK, i'll bite...how does this impact the use of a different differential?
