In the mid '80's this video was the be-all piece to learn how to be a better autocrosser.
UPDATE VIDEO LINK
There were no internet forums and few places to gain real insight. You learned about a video like this from your local SCCA chapters newsletter (that came in the mail with a stamp on it) or through a thin magazine (almost newsletter) written by a greasy fingered couple who had an early computer and an account with the post office.
Through the magic of youtube I have rediscovered this great video (presented in many small segments.)
Nearly 25 years have passed but the techniques are the same.
For all there was not at the time, there were Mugen CRXs and Integras!!!!
Bookmarked! The whole series is there!
Am I really hearing tire temps of 170? And 60lbs up front?
LOVE the heat-sink wheels!

I want a pair of those shades.
Awesome linky. Thanks again.
Also wanted to add... the 13 year old in me is ROLLING at the combination of the subject matter and the guy's name.

Do not let the 13 yr old see the "Dick Strap" which is never spoke of but shown clear as day throughout the videos.
Geez, just watched that tire pressure bit. I ended up running a little higher pressure than normal yesterday and had my best finish ever. I got a rerun and didn't bleed off air before my rerun. The difference was noticable, so I stuck with it. But I've never taken the time to really figure it out like they're doing here. Wonder how much I'm leaving on the table with "internet wisdom" rather than real world testing? Guess I should invest in a real tire gague.

Go "old school" with some white shoe polish as well.
And if you are wondering, the white never really comes off the sidewalls.
In reply to jrw1621: It does if you drop your air pressure enough...
Thread bump for the new year
