The problem with the NACA duct is it there's no wing Windows to mount them in in either of our cars. Otherwise that would be the Easy Button

We cobbled one up between sessions at Sebring a couple weekends ago using a small, clear NACA duct.  We simply riverted to to the inside lip of the passenger door panel.  Held strong at 150+mph.  We mounted it on the passenger side so it wasn't in the way of driver ingree/egress.  Driver said it got plenty of air to the blower.

I'm a bit of a Group 2 fan boy (in my spare time) so I thought I'd add a few photos of ducts I've seen on the internet. I've seen plenty of exterior photos of these but it seems you never see details of the ducts themselves. Best I could find was these Sunoco Javelin driver cooling ducts:

These are from a different Javelin and shows that even within the same team there were variations in the design. It makes sense to me these would custom made by the teams themselves and not sourced from an outside supplier.

For period-correctness sheet metal (and badass pinstripes) is the way to go, but I'm not enough of a fabricator to say how you'd want to go about it.  Fiberglass or 3D printed pieces would also work here as well. Either way, this style of duct will look more interesting (on your cars) than a NACA duct ever will.

Wow, great find!

Re: Keith - yeah, for sure! I get really great air movement at parking lot speeds moving around the paddock.   And yes, I've blocked the airflow with a paint can.

I'd imagine that a Miata/Eclipse vent would be the same diameter, but it probably wouldn't have the hose attachment/reduction at the back which made that one really easy to fit in.  I'd try it, though, if I had a spare eyeball and Naca to try with.

The drag of that duct is massive.   I have NACA DUCTS planned for cooling the rear brakes and I think there is room in those windows to duct cooling air to the driver.
