That is really well done. Very cool the way they packaged all the wiring and got the Boxster dash and pedal box in there.
The Bugster. I heard about this project a while ago. I thought it was crazy then, and still think it is sexy now.
If only they hadn't used the Boxter air vents on the side it would be perfect. There had to be a better way of getting air into the engine bay than that.

I agree, but if you got one in black....
Makes me wonder if they might make some for sale. That would be a real sleeper. And I bet the heat and A/C work!

Yeah, it is a super beetle. They never mention that fact, although I guess it's kind of a moot point with this car.

I am not complaining.. I had 2 74 superbeetles. One with a type 4 engine crammed under the back.
I can see why they used it over a standard. The suspension is basically the same as the 944.. so suspension and brake upgrades are easier. Not to mention the bigger trunk area gives space for a radiator.
I would like to try it with a suby powerplant
That is awesome. Really clean.
And +1 to trying it with Subaru running gear. That Subaru burble sounds double-cool coming out of something other than an Impreza.

I agree. You could easily hide some air intakes on the sides of that bug without using such obvious Boxter pieces.
I agree.. I think you could put a small slice in the forward edge of the fender where it meets the body.. say an inch wide and a foot and a half long.. and most people would never notice it

"There may be another way to get the air in but I like the Boxter air vents. They are the one item that is probably not noticeable to most people but tell the knowledgeable that this car is something special.

If I understood it correctly, they didn't use any of the Beetles components. They basically grafted a beetle body on to a Boxter chassis. I imagine the wider body had something to do with using a super beetle.
