I found me a fun, fairly cheap W210 locally. 165k mileage, most maintenance records. Car needs a front bumper cover (lower piece...took a hit from a tread/tire on the interstate). Has very minor hail damage. No visable rust.

Needs a motor mount, and has boost issue (lack of). The turbo was replaced last year, but owner says it never had the pickup it did OEM. Upon inspection, I noticed a large wrap of DUCT TAPE around the lower IC hose. On a test drive WOT, I could hear what sounded like a very large boost leak.

$3500 is what he'll take for it.

Seems like it would provide me with transportation to/from work, maybe make a decent highway cruiser (we live in Atlanta....everything is 45 mins away or more), and perhaps sell for a bit more than I bought it after I'm tired....or convert it to run on WVO?

I know to look out for the rusted spring perches, and I've seen and feel comfortable replacing the fuel lines and orings.... what else on these cars is a typical trouble spot?

IIRC the lower crossmember can rust through badly and it's covered by the engine undertray so it's not that obvious.
