Would it be impossible to achieve use of the former walgreens, a&w, and video store lots?
Uhhhhh.... You know I have no idea. I don't even know who owns that stuff. Rainbow would be solid with the gas station right there and Walmart and stuff, I know Jamie would be happy with me dragging a couple cars to Holiday. I'm sure no one would really stop us from using advsnce, Walgreen's and a&w as overflow, but spectator parking could get messy in a hurry. Though Walmart and tractor supply have more parking than god, and there's like 4 hotels up the road....... Kris man, you may be on to something.
Plus we will have access to amply snacks from the bounty of Wally World, assuming that I don't lose it and burn down the slab for being out of red peppers for the third week in a row!

And there's a liquor store across the street. And a bank. Two banks actually. The problem lies I'm the fact that a dead parking lot may not be dead forever and we could.well lose our venue.
So...where is this happening? Because I'm definitely in. Didn't see a location in the last 5 pages, because adult beverages most likely.

Location- Minnesota. Most likely saint Paul area. I think.
Date? I have no idea. Original plan was jumeish, but part of me thinks like second weekend of September. However, that could.screw.the pooch for people with kids.
Yeah, I vote early June (like 5-7) or some time in July - early August. My wife is a teacher and it would be nice if she could come along.
I completely forgot about rainbow. Did they close close that one or is it turning into another grocery store?

Its dead as a doornail with a lease sign in front of it. Rumors are swirling that Walmart is going super. If that's the case no ones moving a grocer in there. Save for a&w, that's why everything there has failed. berkeleying Walmart.

This one is still potentially available if anyone needs a wagon for the event. :) Sounds like a load of fun which I'd probably be at were it not for other automotive misadventures requiring my time in summer of 2015

And unless you just wanted it to be a closed GRM only kind of event you'd do well to make it known over on http://www.stationwagonforums.com

Thanks for the heads up. Once I have it more nailed down I will for sure.
I have a wagon problem. A Volvo 122 wagon started it. Now I have a '66 Town and Country, and I just bought an '84 300TD last night. I blame parenthood. Anyway, I'm in Maryland. Any chance of a wagonfest anywhere near the D.C/ Baltimore region?
Since MSDSM is in MN, probably not. Plus there are already lots of cool things in your area. The midwest needs some fun stuff too!

Miyuki was from Maryland, she's a Minnesotan now. You can do it too! And bring crab cakes.

Get the right number of participants and we'll put together a longroof rally in your neck of the woods :)

Well, apparently I have 3 already. ;-) I also have 3 acres, most of it cleared field, where we could park and ogle each other's long roofs and have a bonfire.

I remember foxtrapper having a wagon in the fleet as well. I don't think he's far from you in NE MD.
Unfortunately, it's hard for me to commit to anything in 2015 until the racing schedule has been set.
As much as I would love to attend, ots 1200 miles and 19 hours away. Ill help from nc if I can though.

My "wagon" is more like a hatch, and ironically doesn't have enough range to make it to wagonfest bonfire.

Ok, I need to make progress on something today, or I'm going to boil my head. So- a date. I arbitrarily picked Saturday June 6th initially. I am not 100% sure we can get this all done in that time frame. But of people want to commit to it and they think it works, I will do what I can. Otherwise, let's get a date on this log so I can fire up the BBQ, if you catch my.drift.

Probably shouldn't interfere too much with crossover but June 6 is the end of the W2W rally so peeps might have to choose. But sadly there's not a huge GRM contingent on the rallies so I don't think anyone here will have to choose.
As far as getting things done in that time frame, what do you need to do? Yes its a big planning tasks but since we are pulling together similar events which are MOVING the whole time, I can tell you it can be done. Just decide what you need to do, make a list, and follow it. I will admit, watching the professional event planner do this stuff is sometimes like magic. Im looking at it thinking "9 months is not enough" she's looking at it and saying "call me in May and I'll knock this out for you"
edit: the point of the above, which I failed to adequately make, is lemme know what you have to do and I'll see if she has any tips or contacts to make it go smoother for you.
