Pretty cool.
yeah I've been using the Ford VIN window sticker lookup when used car shopping. comes in handy.
We're browsing Flex's for my wife, and I want one with a factory tow package. A number of them have had a hitch added, but it's nice to look up if it had the factory package which includes wiring and oil cooler, actual functional upgrades, etc.
It can help fill in details for what's not pictured (or what can't be seen as well).
My old AMG was a mystery to me when I bought it; Mercedes has a version Of this that tells who ordered the car and gives you the window sticker. I called the original orderer to find that he was the purchasing manager at AMG West, pretty dang awesome.
I did this when I ordered my Mustang.
It's how I knew it had been built. I then called Ford and they said, "Yep, it's in transit and will to your dealer in 7-10 days."
I did this about a year ago and downloaded the window sticker for our Explorer. Nice to be able to do that.
