Wanting a car you have already had.

I'd love to have another mk3 turbo supra, they can be a real pain to own but when they run right there fantastic cars. Sadly enough i sold mine to some local guy how proceeded to trash it then blow up the motor.

Put me down for another 1st gen MR2. Loved that car and sold it for a dumb reason.

I also had a 71 Camaro that I would like to replace someday with another 2nd gen F body, although it probably won't be a 71 since the rich old guys have driven the prices of the early ones up. On top of that I had an LT1/T56 4th gen Z28 and now I think a lot about LS1/T56 Trans Ams - so that's kinda the same car but not really.

Then there is the C4 Corvette. Again, sold it for a dumb reason, and I kinda had a love-hate with the car when I had it. But prices on those are in the crapper and it really is a TON of car for the money. If I had been more selective when I bought I could have avoided a lot of the problems I had with mine.

Maybe I'm getting old, but there just doesn't seem to be that many other cars that interest me and so I keep going back to the same stuff.

I wish I hadn't sold my 240SX coupe (pictured in avatar).

It was rusty, but in hindsight I could have bought my Escort and kept the 240SX and been ahead.

I would really like another 1968 Cougar. Mine was a real pile, but I really liked that car... 351w (transplant of course) 2bbl carb. Headers and duals. C4 trans. 4 wheel DRUM brakes. Manual steering... Big chrome slat grill. Hideaway headlights. Sequential turn signals that I never did get working properly...

I used to own a 240sx and I had all these great plans, then I bought an rx7.

I keep seeing all these v8 rx7s now I just want to v8 my old 240sx because datun + small block = scary. Rx7 + small block is scary and sacrilegious to me lol.

Or just my rx7 back when it had a radio, interior and overall nice condition instead of the beat on track slut it is now. I miss commuting in it.. some days

I'd like to revisit one of these, but they have mostly returned to dust. '81 Corolla Wagon. 1.8 and a 5 speed.

Mine was identical except I waxed it regularly. Buy in was $350. I sold it for $500.

I'd also like another one of these. '74 Pinto. 2.3 OHC and a 4 speed.

Most of them are drag cars now. Buy in on this one was $150 and sold for $400.

Just this morning, I was thinking about my '92 Suzuki Samurai. I'd love to find another stock fuel-injected truck. Mine was a 2wd stripper, and I'd own it again, but a 4wd would be nice. I wish I'd never sold it. I always felt like I could fix anything that ever went wrong on it. I miss my '83 RX-7 too.

Ugh.

Fun cars are one thing, I was at a friend's house and his Mom is selling her '03 Taurus. I have put many miles in both 3 and 4 gen Taurii. I kind of want it. Comfy, reliable, I already have a spare set of wheels...

Of the cars I've owned, Iwould take my 2004 V70R 6M back in a heart beat, and more recently a guy by me is selling a pristine 1990 Lincoln LSC. I had an 87 and love that car for some reason.

But of them all, I miss my 2002 e39 M5. Greatest thing I've ever driven.

Sold my first Miata when times were tough, was offered it back with a blown HG, but passed so that I could buy something nice for my wife. She heard about it from a mutual friend, and used her savings to get it for me. Awesome surprise, and yes, I had wanted it back, before it even left my driveway. If you want a car that you have owned before, either the exact car or a similar replacement, go for it.

I have hankered for another Mk 9 Jaguar from time to time. Getting rather rare now as they cost more to restore than they bring, but they were far above the period Rolls and Bentleys as they had big 4 wheel disc brakes and a 3.8 DOHC engine that hauled along very nicely. It has acres of leather and walnut (rear picnic tables) and really cool purple instrument lights.

Of course if I ever bought one again, I'd have to go through the suspension, add modern rubber, and perhaps a nice LS3 engine and trans......

Ironic thing is that this large barge, even with heavy engine, weighed only around what a new Camaro does today!

I cannot remember the number anymore but it was over 70 cars that I have owned in my 55 years. Most I dont want back but I am on my third 911 and plan to keep the '04 GTO until the parts supply runs out(then it may become parts source for a fun engine swap). I still remember the Audi 4000 quattro and the RX-7 GSL-SE. Otherwise most of the cars just fit my mood for the moment and then moved on so I could get something else. My wife had an '86 Accord SE and traded it for a Merc 190. A month later she wanted the Accord back but the Mercedes dealer had already moved it on. The 190 stayed with us until we were no longer upside down in the car and could use it as trade bait for the first of many RX-7s. I will never forget the Mercedes dealer telling us "it is our entry level car and we expect more problems with it" comment when we complained about its many failings. POS is all I can say!
