Sorry for the crappy quality but after busting ass on the car for the last month we are excited it finally made some noise. Now we just need to work out the cooling system, belt, more wiring, put it back together, see if it drives etc. On schedule with almost a week left... right?
Sounds mean.
The rest of the items are just details, yes?
Kind of. Exhaust, Interior, Bleed and Fill Things, Body Panels.
Biggest thing that worries me is if any problems or issues creep up.
I was just kidding on the detail thing (aka -being an ass).
There's always something that turns up especially with how much you have left. Hopefully they will be small and not frustrate you too much more...Are you going to keep it that loud or was that just an effect of the video?
Looking forward to seeing the finished product!
Its pretty loud but the video distorsts it. We thought it broke Rob's Iphone mic thats why the sound stops half way through. He just needed to restart the phone and it worked again.
Due to the space constraints the headers are running forward. We should be getting the exhaust done this week. It will probably exit in front of the rear wheels.

CRap-Now I need to turn the boost WAAAAAAAY up!
dude, you're way ahead of half the field, with a car that runs this far from the start of the challenge!

Mine ran before we started trying to get it ready for the challenge.
Ahhhh! The sound of joy is heard throughout the land! Good job, and good luck with the rest. I hope it goes swimmingly well.
It runs but is showing no oil pressure. Dont hear anything from the lifters and the pump when spun by a drill will slowly fill the guage line.
Not sure what could cause this. Any advice would be appreciated.

'Slowly' fill the gauge line? If the pump is working right the oil should squirt out. I think you have a dead/dying oil pump. Hope not, though. 'Cause then you'd have to pull the pan.
before you panic, try a different oil pressure gauge. if it ain't on the car at the challenge, it ain't in the budget! another way to look at it, in your case, is that the new oil pressure gauge is actually a tool beign used to diagnose the functionality of the gauge in the car.
FWIW, when the small-diameter tubing is attached to the gauge, it is typical for the oil to fill this tubing slowly, as there's air trapped in the line that has to be compressed by the oil.
perhaps disconnect the tubing from the gauge, and start the engine, which should blow the air (and some oil) out the tubing ie "priming" the tubing and perhaps curing whatever ails that gauge?
do not panic until you verify oil pressure with another gauge.
Tried that with a known working gauge. The oil does not squirt out in any manner.
We believe that it is getting oil pressure since the hydraulic lifters would be making quite a racket by now.
Here is a list of "no oil pressure" causes on a mustang forum.
bad pump
oil pump d/s not seated propery
leak at pick-up tube
pick up tube not installed
leak at block
missing oil galley plugs
did you check the gauge wiring?
Sounding good mate see you in a few
Mechanical gauge
We are thinking we may have switched the remote oil filter lines somehow and it is trying to reverse flow.
pull a valve cover and see how much oil is being delivered to the valvetrain.
make sure you don't have the gauge tubing pinched somewhere.
with engine not running, remove gauge fitting from block, then pull the coil wire so the engine won't start, and crank the engine for several seconds and see what kind of gusher you get at the block. is it possible that the tubing to the gauge is blocked?
Reversed lines on the remote cooler. All is good and we are seeing about 45psi at high idle. Still need to connect the cooling system so it hasnt had a chance to run long term yet.
Thanks guys!
