My engine is mounted. Not fired yet. Fabricating brackets. Hope to fire it Saturday.
I have to have ADD of car building. Start on one area look over and go ooh I could try this. I am almost done with a lot different items on the truck. And I am also planning the next build. It is difficult to focus on one item to finish.

I can bring a small air mattress, so floor space works. For a bed, I'll split the room cost. For floor space, I'll reward my host handsomely with some of Oregon's best brew (beer or coffee if you'd prefer). I promise not to act a fool, too! BryceOne more shot...anybody have some hotel space that doesn't involve spooning? Bryce
Friend just called last night to say he has to work that weekend, the 2nd bed in my room opened up, PM me if you want it!
Planning on firing the black car Saturday, pulling motor OUT of the red car on Sunday.

text me the address and if I have time I can try and lend a hand Sunday.
I was planning on working on the alignment today and perhaps even a little cleaning under the hood... but it is raining right now and I do not want to spend the day soaked on the dirty ground.
Instead I have been building a valve cover racer and having lots of fun being creative with the odd crap that I have lying around.

You know this means it's going to blow up upon unloading, right? Bragging only gets you in trouble.

It usually does blow up upon unloading, I have the trophy to prove it
I'm thinking at this point i'm going to end up doing all my detailing and stuff once i'm down there. Or just leave the car looking like absolute hell since it does terribly in concours anyways.

How big do you need it to be for the "Most Spectacular Failure Award"?
In reply to Swank Force One:
I bet mine will look worse. Was considering renaming my team to "polished turd racing" because it seems to fit right now.
In reply to hobiercr:
Apart from a couple of notable exceptions, the whole event is "Polished Turd Racing"
We're not doing well. Texas last week, Conn and Mass this week. 12 states in the last 10 weeks. Multiple unit failures at work has me working insane hours.
We couldn't get the project car done. Our only hope was/is/now recycling a previous car. This will be a rampant effort this weekend to be there. Engine from '07 car, trans from '10 car, wheels and tires were worn out on the '06 car. Help welcomed :) ..... Including at the event. If we're close enough, it may not be running, but in the lot. Yes, we miss everyone that much...and after the Drag Week rescue we are willing to do whatever it takes.
