Tell you what...I will help you put down a good ET to get you the overall placing you deserve. We line them up, I spot you a second or so as a head start and when I am passing you around the 1000 foot mark, I will remind you to shift into 3rd gear.

No, it's a 2003 with 200K on it. The MI salt it came from has taken it's toll, so the only warranty is that any bolt I put a wrench to is guaranteed to snap.

The work isn't that it is a MINI.

The work is getting it to act like a JCW.

Following this with interest. Mostly because I got a bunch of E36 M3 I need to do to mine and I prefer the spirit of the Challenge as opposed to the spirit of the Roundel in regards to prices.

I'm afraid that my biggest effort is going to be fighting rust.

It was a northern car, and everything I touch breaks.

After I broke the 4 lug nuts, I figured it would be easier to replace the hub than drill and re-tap. Removal of the hub led to 3 more broken bolts, a broken ball joint, then a broken stabilizer link, and 3 hours with an air hammer to get it all apart.

I appreciate your interest, but I'm not sure I'm going to be giving much quality info. It's going to be a stretch just to get it in track-able condition.

My goal is to get rid of enough weak, rusted, and/or broken stuff to avoid being the recipient of the "Most Catastrophic Failure" award.

Sadly for some other guys, I'm still gonna whoop some tail!
