I'm actually OK with recouped costs. With the Datsun I've actually sold $7145 in parts.
I keep track of every penny on a spread sheet. I have $9700 in the car after 39 years.

Lmp360 and fdat both recorded 1:22-1:23ish laps (and I'm selfishly confident they could both be faster), and I know other challenge cars have been above the bottom of this list as well. So if you want to see how your challenge car stacks up on track, the challenge is the right place for that as well!

I've heard people with them in the 2600lb range. Full bodied track car with (presumably) a cage.

there was a vette cart /w full cage that recently sold on bring a trailer and I think they said it only lost around 280 pounds.

With an iron block in that one. Plus two seats and a fairly extensive steel frame added plus whatever that huge Mr fusion thing is in the back. You can do better.
