me too... before I got my first Honda my GF had a 128 , that's when I feel in love with FWD... she's long gone but the love of FWD is still there

right now, it has a 215/50 13 on there, so something similar i think. Sumitomo has one for like $50 each, and they have a race tire for $140 each!

WERD!
My first experience with FWD was a test drive in a 128SL. The sales rep was a very enthusiastic driver.
After driving it, too, I knew why; I bought one!

Way cool choice!
Looks like the car has some 13x6(?) BWA's and 215/50-50's will fit. Also, 185/60's will also work and you have choices in stickier compounds.
BUT, if you go with the 215 Sumi's, please give some feedback on the performance; It's a tire size I'm seriously considering for my EF Civic.
And again, congrats on car!
definitely! Yea, spent way too much this week, so i gotta wait a week before throwing $300 down on tires, but i will need them to get it back on the street.
That is really awesome. HOw is the underhood and floor? I don't see a lot of rot and I see huge fender flares. 2 things that make me happy.

Excellent.

I'll be at the Mitty, I'll keep an eye out. I'll be in the black Corrado in my avatar.
Very cool car! I dont think I have seen one of those before! How hard are they to come by in the states?

Great looking 128! I love the color; and one more example of how box flares DO make everything awesomer.
I have 215/50 13 Sumi's on my X1/9 now. They are crazy cheap. Can't comment on performance, since the car isn't running now, but from what I've been told the sidewalls a weak.
What are these $140 race tires you speak of? The Toyo R888 comes in 225/45R13V and they are about $160/tire.
Listen here duke, its been nearly 20 hours or so, and still not even a single update? what the hell man?
Im angry cuz Im jealous!

I have Sumi HTR's on my Prelude Si - 195/60-14's and the sidewalls are not real stiff. Running high pressures helps this a lot, but never confuse the tires with the UHP offerings from other companies.
On a light-weight car like an X1/9 or 128, I'd suspect a set of 215's will offer a great deal of grip, but not nearly as much as a real sticky set of 185/60's built to a higher performance level.
Just my $.02.........
