Powerboats make airplanes seem cheap.

Those offshore boats are to powerboats, what a Gulfstream is to airplanes. There is a whole GRM boat world out there for guys who love building/restoring old powerboats on the cheap.
I thought these were just the new gold-standard in the pickup world:
Mid-size trucks are the new compact (not "real") trucks.
Standard duty full-size trucks are the new mid-size (barely "real") trucks.
Super/Heavy duty full-size trucks are the new standard duty full-size (properly "real") trucks.
Thus, these trucks must be the new SD/HD full-size (realest of "real") trucks.
Therefore, if you plan to tow as much a 5000 lbs once in a while, drive through occasional dustings of snow, and care at all about the safety and well being of your family with all of those other people on the road in their standard duty full-size trucks/SUV's...You too can win the arms race by making THIS your next daily driver!
For what used medium duties go for I have often thought of shortening one at putting a bed on it. Drivetrains and brakes would be understressed and last forever and my lo-pro Internationals turned better than any pickups I had.
If I wanted a truck to haul.. I would shorten the frame on a GMC W7 or it's Hino or Mitsu counterpart. I am talking the "big" box trucks that are registered to carry 25,950lbs worth of stuff in a 24foot box. I just like cabovers.. especially in a vehicle that large

What is it about people that don't like big trucks that makes them think about how well endowed the people that own them are?
Honestly, it's kind of creepy and says more about you than the person who owns the truck...

Wrong. The order of money pits (from least to most money) is: bicycles, motorcycles, cars, boats, planes, spacecraft. You race Porsches because you can't afford to race boats. You race boats because you can't afford to race planes. If you're Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk, you have rockets.
Bonus points for amphibious planes though...

I got into cars because bikes were too expensive. I was doing $200+ in damage on practically every ride in the mid 90s. 20 years later I still haven't bought a car that cost more than one of my bikes.
(Admittedly, they were NEW bikes)

Don't forget thoroughbred horses in that list... The rumor is that somebody with money who flaunts it at the Lake of the Ozarks with (what is to most folks) a pretty impressive redneck yacht was heard to comment, "Horses? They get can get expensive..."

At the existing top tiers, only the spacecraft beat out F1... :)

I wonder if they can be regeared to make highway speeds (70mph) tolerable?
In reply to mad_machine:
Overson makes $$$ 4.90:1 Rockwell gears. Taller tires, or an overdrive transmission swap would probably be cheaper. I'd bet going to a higher ratio would take 0-60 time from being measured in hours to days, without a serious weight reduction or upgrade in power. The M35's multifule only had ~130 HP 240 Lb Ft to motivate 13K lbs empty, before it became worn out public auction surplus fodder.
In reply to mad_machine:
I don't think they have enough power for 70mph, a stock one with stock tires is at or near the 2600rpm redline at 55mph and a LDT 465 only makes 134hp and 330 ft/lbs. The tall tires on the one pictured should make 55-60 tolerable though.
