For any of us who have ever used the excuse "I just can't fit [engine A] int [vehicle B]" Our arguments are invalid.
I present a Fiat 500 (classic version) with a Lambo V12.
And if that result seems a little too over the top and cartoonish for you keep watching the video to the the Ferrari V8 and Porsche Flat 6 powered ones as well.

There is almost more fender flare than actual body width wise on that thing!
That much power with a wheelbase that short? And a CG that high?
There was on shot in that video that showed a black flag with a skull and crossbones. How appropriate!
Zaphod* built a hotrod!!

Wow, amazing. From the front it looks like a Morgan Aero8 and a 500 collided. Did you notice the seat frames were notched at the lower, inboard corners to clear the drivetrain!?!?!
Interesting fender construction (@ 1:29) on the first car. I usually think in larger pieces of metal, but I can see that working really well.

Yeah, the more you watch it the more you realize that while others have built some similar things (friend of mine sent me an allison V12 powered Isetta drag car in response) this one really had a lot of quality thought and fabrication put into it. It's insane but should still be very functional.

I was blown away that they thought to integrate the aggressive stealth-fighter lines of the current Lambos with the curves of the old 500. And it works.
I shouldn't be surprised that an Italian garage got the pretty part right, but the construction looks down right... what's the opposite of Italian craftsmanship?
Anyone else find it ironic/funny that they used a Lamborghini engine instead of a Ferrari powerplant?

Well, kind of "in addition to" rather than "instead of ".
So 500 pictures of a longitudinal v12 fiat 500 build.. and video of a transverse build? Sweet, but I want to see video of the first build.

That Porsche-powered one was hot. They maintained enough of the stock appearance that I'd actually want to own it--- not just drive it on a track.
All of that work, and flat black paint? For shame. Why not Lambo orange, or an eggshell white like an older 500?
The level of fabrication was crazy and very well-executed.
Did they fit larger tires? I can't tell.
Somehow I feel a need to paraphrase Jack Nicholson in "As Good As It Gets":
"I think of a Fiat, then I remove all reason and accountability."

because track rat
(It's nice knowing that covering up tire rash will only cost $20 of rustoleum.)
Okay, now: which one of you made it?

I'm reminded of the W12-powered GTI on Top Gear a while back and its seemingly utter incompetence on the track (and that was a factory effort). I may be wrong, but I suspect that this one won't be very good as a "track rat"

That was created as a show car for an VW meet just to show something neat correct? I sort of view in the same light as the GT-R Juke. Looks sort of cool and just an exercise in engineering. Without more details on this it's hard to tell if it was along the same lines or if they actually intend to legitimately run it as a track rat. The video didn't seem all that fast but my on track experience with a crazy high performance engine in a light car is somewhat limited.

Yeah, most likely. I can't image VW envisioned it as an actual product. And it's main problem was massive on-throttle and off-throttle oversteer, which is what I see in the 2 turns shown by this one on the track. Really not much you can do with a heavy rear/mid engine on a short-wheelsbase car.
Still very cool nonetheless, even though it's really just a show car like the W12 GTI.

Crazy would be if they kept the stock body exterior dimensions...

Yeah right. Pretty sure that wearymicrobe and maybe one or two others of us have lambo drivetrain money.
