If you want a reason, how about they can make a MINI look easy on tires. I knew a guy who tried to run a MS3 in DS. It wore down a set of A6's to 50% in ONE event. He sold the car shortly afterwards and went back to karts, tail between his legs and wallet smoldering... Last I read, he's currently in a car he found cheaper to run - a Z06 in SS.
