Supposedly they are street legal in 49 states (not California) according to the manufacturer website. Of course, every state has different regulations and definitions of "street legal". For example, in Idaho where my dad has his RZR, it needed a rear view mirror, turn signals and a horn to be street legal. He can drive it on city/country roads but not a highway. YMMV of course.

Yeah, they are not very big. More of a street legal dune buggy if anything. I can't find the exact measurements but supposedly they have about 4"-5" of suspension travel and 9.8" of ground clearance.

I did find some posts on RZRForums where a dude has put some miles on his. He uses it as a second car/mild offroad toy. A RZR XP1000 Turbo this is not

I'm kinda conflicted about these things. Sure, they are less expensive than a SXS/UTV but more than a small 4WD (Samurai/Tracker/Rocky) and less capable than either. I'd still try to DD one if I had the coin.
