After staring at one the last 2 weeks i really want some mid 30s ford with a 351/4speed and a good rear axle just too hoon around in and annoy everyone.
An RX-3 is quite a dinosaur, so it would take a bunch of upgrading to bring it up to modern performance standards. Solid axle, leaf-sprung rear, McPherson struts up front, and itty-bitty brakes, to name a few limitations. It looks like the builder of that car may have taken care of that last issue.
I want an E39 Wagon, specifically a 540iT with the 6 speed manual... Failing that, get a 6-cylinder one and swap in an LS1/T56 or something similar.

From his add:
Bridge ported and dowelled 13b Microtech LT10 standalone Single turbo Independent rear suspension with Nismo 2 way LSD Fuel cell Methanol injection 10 point road race roll cage Fully adjustable coil over suspension
Kodiak 3 piece wheels and Toyo proxy 888 tires
Oh hes only asking 200k

Mines going to be another couple of months.
Meanwhile we have a baby on the way and its due in early July.
It's now a drag race to see which gets here first; a human baby or a car.
I want an LS Juan transplant into my FR-S...that will make the cool car I want. If it remains in the fleet for 7-8 more years this becomes a probable outcome. If my AADD doesn't shuttle it out of the fleet to soon...
Since I am dd-ing a great big teutonic sled, I find meself wanting, even more than before, a Caterham or an Atom just for contrast. Both of which would be ridiculous in this climate. And I could never afford either. Maybe "go-kart" fits the bill better.
Volvo 740 sedan body on a stock car chassis, on the street. Massive box flares, whatever it takes. Think "the love child of 'Nascarlo' and Rusty Slammington'".
Or, slightly more reasonable, this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/322070398910

Since BMW never sold such a beast, they're pretty damn rare. I've seen a few conversions over the years. Often they are 525iT manuals with E39 M5 drive trains swapped in. But if you live in more difficult inspection area, then a 6spd swap in a 540iT is easier to keep legal.

I didn't realize they never made that combination... Wagons are rare enough, I'd just take what I could get, and make it work
