It is worse than it sounds. You have to first shim the two valve stems individually to both be the same height, then place the bucked on and add/remove height in unison to get your final clearance.
Maybe not so bad if you have a wall full of shims, but even then dealer trained mechanic book time for adjusting valves was 16.5 hours.

Wow, that sounds worse than the valve train on a Porsche 4 Cam flat 4, the one with shaft drive cams.
