I'm about to dig into what I think is a gummed-up FI system on one of my bikes, and I suspect I'll need to clean up the injectors and fuel rail in particular. I have some normal carb cleaner on the shelf (which they probably don't even call carb cleaner anymore...), and a set of high tech* carb passage cleaning tools.

Will I need anything more or anything specialized to clean up my injectors? This is the first FI system I've de-gunked.

*(Basically just a very thin, stiff wire.)

Chevron Techron is one of the best on the market and the only one that sells fuel system cleaner direct to the comsumer that also makes and sells it to the major oil companies to add to their fuel they sell to you. I know that as some years back I was involved in the purchase and distribution of bulk gasoline detergent additives for a major oil company and Chevron was our supplier.
