Be glad I didn't link to any video. Henri Toivonen could really motor those things around.

If the 02 Elantra gets rear ended or destroyed, it's engine is going into our 2000 accent....

know what else comes with a V6?

second-gen Probe GT, bitches!

from detroit to gainesville and back for the '06 challenge, carrying 4 mounted race tires, a floor jack, a small toolbox, a box of cleaning supplies, and a weekend's worth of stuff for two, we got 27 mpg round trip including a day of drag racing. bone berkeleying stock. placed 16th out of 62 in the autocross on a very thin set of hoosier A6's (Al McCrispin drove it like a boss). ran 15.1 @ 89 mph with a full tank of 87 octane because sleep dep made me fill up on the cheap stuff on the way to the track. so yeah, underrated hatchbacks? this is definitely one of them.

Alright, so somebody already mentioned the Ford Escort, and I guess that the mk1 GTI doesn't count........ hmmm... and I can't manage to mention anything American...

So, I guess that leaves the little Nissan NX 2000/1600 as a viable contestant, as well as the Mazda MX3, and the VW golf 2.0 mk3, mayyyyyyybe mk2 (let me think on that!)

That's all I got for now :)

Just to clarify: I'm not saying YOU were spreading disinformation. But really? 1400lb CRX? Geo Storms as being good at anything other than corroding?

Well, my Canadian-market CRX 1.5 weighed just shy of 800kg with me in the driver's seat and a full tank of gas at the Ministry of Transport truck scales. I weigh around 240lbs. Subtract the ballast that is me and that gives a curb weight of 1523 lbs or thereabouts. So no too far off. I did remove the sound insulation, although there wasn't much of it to begin with. Our 1.5 was basically the HF with a bigger engine (carbed D15A1) and better brakes.

Still not buying it. If honda listed my 85 crx as 1700lb dry, i highly doubt it is actually 200 lbs lighter with 100 more lbs of fluid in it..

They weren't overlooked, were they?

I mean, hatchback version of the SE-R, with bigger brakes.
