A sports car has to be grounded to the ground
Aside from the images, the term 'sports car' brings the sound of an engine entering a corner, tire squall, and the smell of hot motor oil (Rotella T6 5W-40 is the best oil) to my mind.
It's pretty simple; a sports car has only two seats. And the two things in the back of my Volvo 1800 don't count as seats unless you don't have any legs. (Although I did cram 5 people in it for a parade once, (small people)).
Define sports, and that will tell you what kind of cars fit into it. Are rally cars sports cars? You can't argue that stage rally isn't motorsports, so...
