So I have a Cavalier dirt track car and I'll be running on a private farm track for fun. Cant go wrong with a $400xx car. What other fun can I have with this thing? Obviously I can dirt track it, but what else. Just seeing whats out there.
Yes, that's chicken wire.
Drive by? Flatblack of course.
That's too common around here. I like to be different.
Try and take it to a rallycross or even an auto-x and see how many strange looks you get.

The thought crossed my mind. I was seriously thinking rallycross, See what I can break.
Even better, wait for winter and go ice racing!
You're giving me bad ideas.

What classes would it fit in for rally? That sounds the most fun.

The problem you are going to run into with rallyx is safety rules.
The only class you will fit into is the Modified Front class (MF) but even there you need to have a windshield.
RallyX Rules said:
e. Side and rear windows may be removed or replaced with Lexan or equivalent. Windshield may be replaced with Lexan or equivalent with addition of a full roll cage built to SCCA Improved Touring specifications or better.
I'm drawing from VERY old memories here, but IIRC, Improved Touring cages are pretty stout (I mean, the rules are robust) and most dirt track cages won't meet those regulations.
Take it to a dirt track, have fun all night, and get paid at the end. That should be fun.
Totally look into lemons or those types of racing. Heck, you paid the cost of the metal for the cage...and what you got was the cage installed in a running car. Cool!

thanks for the rules. The cage won't meet spec. Unfortunately, I think Clem is right. Oh how I would like to rally...
I may think about the chump car thing. I think the race here is this weekend, so not this year.
take to car show, win trophy
I vote Rallycross, dirt track, or an asphalt/concrete oval.

I was going to say, if that was in GA all you'd need to do is add lights, windshield wipers (windshield not required), brake lights, seatbelts, and it would be street legal
Why not AutoX it? Chump, Lemons? Get it 'street legal enough' and go BABE Rallying, Dukes of Hazard, crash it into a tree, car-rolling, demolition derby, figure 8 racing, skid plate racing, go find some local circle tracks and find out what fun events you can hoon about in...
Be sure the cage will pass tech @ LeMons/Chump. With it being a dirt track car, I'd be shocked if it would.

Yea, no way that cage comes even close to passing tech at lemons or chump. Their safety rules are actually pretty tough, at least as tough as Scca.

Yeah, Bubba's race shop isn't exactly known for building road racing cages.

Yea, pretty sure it isn't actually welded, but held together by male ejaculate.
Do you have the means to construct a large trebuchet?
SCCA IT cage is DOM tube. Chump says nothing about dom, so if its 095 erw, add tube until its got enough, then fix welds and gusset.

down here (for thscc at least) the rallyx is pretty open, there is 2wd less than 2400cc N/A, less than 2400cc NOT n/a, and awd iirc. lol
