Looks like an old mail jeep or an overseas Jeep knockoff.

[Willys Mail Jeep] Early 60's Jeep DJ

That's it, early 60's Postal Jeep.

Not a Postal, just an early Cj-5 with a rare aftermarket top. It's not a Meyer, but no seems to know the brand.

In reply to llysgennad :

Agree not a Postal, but I think it is an early Meyer's.

OK, digging deeper into obscura. Apparently this is the factory top offered by Willys (see above) , made by Koenig. More expensive and rust-prone than others like Meyer, so not very common to see anymore.

It just wandered out of the storage facility next to our parking lot.  I like it.

That is correct.  It was very popular here in the NE.   Favored over the canvas top..

 It was available factory installed..

The roof was a one piece plastic molding .

I think I'd rather have the DJ body. But I also know at the time converting a DJ to 4wd was more complicated and expensive than this top. Now I suspect it might be a toss up.

I love the sound of this Jeep, classic low compression, putputputputputputput.
