WDCR or Philly?

Likely have an uphill battle in obtaining permission for land use, but a perfect location for a rallysprint and rallycross is located in Maryland less than 20 minutes off 95 and less than 10 minutes from Newark, DE. No fewer than 8, and likely about 12-14 miles of nicely groomed gravel, mix of single trek and 2 lane and multiple 30+ acre fields.

WDCR.

To figure out go to https://www.scca.com/regions  and put in the zip code for the location.

I would say Philly region, as they have hosted Autocross events in Harford County.

WDCR should be your home region, but Philly is effectively closer.  You can be at Philly events in an hour from Elkton.  I live just over the border in Newark, DE, and flynlow is close by too.

My club, Brandywine Motorsport Club (BMC) is regional.  Right now our autocrosses are held at Dover Speedway in Delaware, but I am trying desperately to get a New Castle County venue.  We do autocross, road rally, and drift events.

In reply to Donebrokeit :

Aberdeen where Philly used to have Autocross events Is actually WDC Region.  They had to ask permission from WDCR to hold the events there.

Since this would be in the  D.C region  would they want to host  more events as they have another site in the opposite direction and a full (ish) schedule? Would Philly be able to host an event like this, I know Philly was looking into Rally-x events a while back but we're having trouble finding a site.

Thinking about Elk Neck State Forest? Not sure where else around there has that much land, maybe the Scout site. I had approached the Port Deposit LLC that controls the old Bainbridge site a number of years ago. We just wanted to scope the place out but they were not interested. Only other site that I can think of is the gravel lot at Richie Bros. Auctions for a rallyx.

It's not Port Deposit LLC or Elk Neck State park, I will say the location would be best served to be utilized for a one day rallysprint and followed by a rallycross the following day, something to attract volunteers to come out. The location lends itself to gathering media coverage and event sponsors, however due to the current usage I don't see the area able to be utilized more than once or twice a year. Due to it's somewhat sensitive use, I'm not going to publicly state the location, but am more than willing to share it with organizers, as I fear that persons even coming through it to scope out or doing their own unofficial testing, would likely end any chances that may be feasible for it's use. I also suspect the potential pricetag for use to be high, but again location from Philly, Baltimore, DC and NY make it a short tow for a large number of people and proximity to WL Gore, 3M, casinos, pep boys corp, Subaru NA, Keystone and some other entities could assist offsetting the cost of procurement if numbers work in terms of competitor and local response.

FYI WDCR currently has a thriving rallycross program while Philly's is currently struggling for both leadership and sites, which is a bit of a chicken vs egg thing.  Point being, WDCR is the much better candidate to pursue whatever this Elkton venue is.
