Last year GRM talked me into getting a Crown Vic for my daily driver. I found a really clean LX Sport with a moon-roof (like stupid clean, I feel bad for getting it dirty) and I absolutely love it, it might be my favorite car and I need to get my head checked. Idle hands have me looking for a weekend sweetheart car, I was originally looking for a vintage muscle car but I test drove some cars and realized it's a bit "more of the same" as my DD. Heavy rear wheel v8 etc.
What would you guys suggest? Something vintage, blue collar job price, not a basket case, not super old. I was actually looking at corvairs, but I know enough about them to decide yes or no. I need some other ideas :P
What are your plans with this sweetheart?
Compete or cruise?
If yes..
What type of competition?
What type of cruise?
Oh just cruising, to the office on the weekends / grocery. Nothing major.
GRM convinced you to buy a Crown Vic...
Have you tried the others of the GRM Pentaverate?
Miata
BMW e30
Crown Vic P71
Jeep XJ
Chevy Astro
Each with their own merits.
Go older pick-up from any of the big three.
2wd with the right stance and some new shoes!
I would think miata since it's pretty much the exact opposite of your daily. I never understood having multiple of similar cars

Something 2 door and sporty. Now it's just a matter of taste. Mustang, Miata, BMW, Camaro, Jeep TJ. There are a lot of choices. Sounds like you have the cruiser part.
Porsche 914
Exocet
Srt10 ram
Cyclone/typhoon
Northstar powered fiero
C4 corvette
Crx si
Truggy
Those are all my standard craigslist searches for weekend toys
