Hello , and thanks for reading . I have been an avid reader of magazine and forums just and now have finally posted. I have confused myself so much that i dont know what to do . I am adding another car and i know i want rwd fun not expensive to maintain it will be parked on street and it will get dinged up I live in nyc and its going to be a driver I already have a 01 impreza coupe , 85 caddy eldorado coupe , 06 matrix which does my hauling and functional duties . Now its time for the rwd car! i have up to 15k to spend , and after reading the 911 buyers guide I have realized between parking outdoors dings I cannot maintain correctly a car like that correctly , unless I am wrong does anyone have a mid 80's 911 that is dd ?

So now my thought process is to look at cars such as rx-8 , 350z , e-36 bmw , pontiac gt-o ,

my only requirments is that its RWD fun car , will be autocrossed few times a year and a couple of track days , but will also put 10k on nyc streets .

I'm having a tough time deciding would like to see what other people think and sorry but no miata for me . thanks Steve

Out of the ones you listed, I vote GTO. There is nothing like an LS for tire smoking fun.

My bud has a GTO that he swears by - I can't imagine it being bad in any way. The only problem he's had is when it got broken into, and that's only because some of the interior bits were difficult to source.

If you are parking it on the street the GTO is low-key and tends to blend in. Something like a 911, a Vette, a 350z, draws a lot more attendtion.

Use the bland GTO styling to your advantage.

You live in NYC and want to have 4 vehicles? I thought they had taxis, busses, subways, and (close to Central Park) horse-drawn carriages there so that only Jerry Seinfeld has more than 4 cars.

I'd go Goat for the stealth factor. My biggest complaint when they first came out is that I thought they looked too much like the Cavalier.

The only things I've heard bad about the GTO is that they're tire limited (you just can't fit a lot of rubber out back), and that suspension parts are hard to come by in the US and you pretty much have to import everything from Australia.

Depending on your neighborhood, the Bimmer may have stealth going for it as well, especially if you debadge it (I'm assuming you'd be getting an M3 considering the caliber of the other cars you're debating).

Tuna thank you for the help , my writing skills are a work in progress ,

I liked the c5 a great deal , after searching a 02 zo6 isn't out of reach if patient enough at around 17 , other wise Goat it is . I know the whole stealth factor of Goat but that's why we pay insurance , if anything happens hopefully they cover it . Now the question becomes 02 z06 or 05 goat?

Mustang would be hard to beat for cheap RWD fun...they are everywhere and there are tons of parts available and not entirely too piggish. C5 Vette would be nice, but too nice to leave on the street IMHO.

RX8's are sooooo cheap at the moment due to their gas mileage and the fact that power-wise they aren't anything special. Apparently, all they need is a supercharger to hit close to 350whp in one of the greatest handling "gt" cars evar

very true about Stang , and rx-8 just the money need to spend to get it to the z06 performance level for either cars then whats the point just get z06 if that is at 17k findable and have more trade in money when its time to sell
