If you want to be fair, I would say $1500. Remember this is an offer, you can't expect him to take your first throw.
If you want to get the car for what I think this guy might sell it for $1000. I might go as high as 2k, strictly because of the lack of rice and rust.

A dumptruck load of trophies has driven up prices of an 89 Si. The list of cars that are "all-around" fun to drive, get great gas mileage, have four seats and cargo space with dead-nuts reliability for $2k is a very, very short one.
