Years ago I built a quirky 3 cylinder Miata. Some folks looked at it with morbid curiosity while others said burn it with fire. It was a lovable freak but I outgrew it and passed it along to another builder.

Its been a number of years since I last heard about the car This morning I mounted up for an internet adventure in search of the lost car. Armed with a cup of coffee and some doughnuts I followed the last known trail..... After a few dead ends, I finally stumbled across a disturbing picture....

This is all that is left of the G10 Miata. A mechanical gut pile in a cold and lonely garage.

The new owner suffers from the 'too many projects' syndrome that we are all afflicted with and the remains of the G10 Miata are for sale. Anyone interested in a tiny 55hp fuel injected all aluminum engine with five speed that weighs a tick over two hundred pounds in running trim?

I'll second this. 55 actual HP is probably more than an average mgb.

Southern Oregon. The last post in the classified indicated the seller was asking $500.00

I didn't think anyone would seriously consider purchasing this. Anyway, I just added the link to the 2015 classified section.

I heard there's somebody who sells performance parts for those motors

The G10 is fairly indestructible and is often used in lightweight aircraft. A turbo version of this engine was built for a number of years.

G10 as in Suzuki?

If so 3tech performance does a bunch of stuff for them. Head over to the teamswift forums and see what people do with the g10

If not Suzuki?.... Just pretend I said nothing.

55hp in a small lightweight package would make for a good auxiliary in a good sized sailboat.. if people were still putting gas engines into them.

What you might be missing here doc, is that Mr woof himself makes performance stuff for these motors. He knows a fair bit about them.

The G10 is a pretty cool engine. I hope this setup finds a new life in something.

Is Mr woof involved with 3tech? Or is that one of his competitors? If it's the latter, my bad.

Anyways, enough Suzuki talk for me, its making me miss my gti

I think we have "the Answer" here.

(challenge car, "sponsor" it, do well, promote 3tech)

Cool!

This setup has one of your modified cam sprockets installed.

I originally mated the Suzuki G10 to the sammy gearbox to build a drivetrain for my Spitfire. At some point a rusty POS Miata crossed my path and the combo was put in that car instead. The G10 Miata tipped the scales at 1960 lbs with a full tank of gas. In this case the Miata was not the answer

here is a short video of the G10 Miata in its glory days...

I vote for a new sub class at the $2017 challenge. 2015 was the Aristocats, 2016 is going to be the Soccer moms. 2018 should be the G10 class. Talk to GRM. Anything 4 wheeled within the cost cap goes.

My thought would be similar to an old F750

I remember many years ago some guy had a website where he chronicled putting that drivetrain into an AH Bugeye Sprite.

Haha I recognize that videogame intro music! Couldn't remember the name of the game for a second, but then I opened DOSbox on my phone to jog my memory

Actually, it was a 1300 from a Swift GT (if this is the one you're talking about), although a G10 would work, too.

Fuel and time them right and they'll take 20+ psi all day
