I'm looking for a shell Spec Miata that's basically scrap. I just want to cut the hopefully mostly good cage out and use it for other purposes. Anyone one know where there might be one laying around?

That first one is in the rightish price range. I sent them a message but the height of the cage seems weird. Second one is definitely outside of my cheap SOB price range.
First one is going to be picked up tomorrow.

The height is probably due to a combination of Lemons rules requiring more headroom from the top tube to helmet, and a taller than average driver. Teams with tall drivers or who rent seats out tend to build with room to spare.

I think your best bet would be a Rhodes cage from summit. The last one I bought for a miata was about $400.00. Only problem I had was it didn't nascar style door bars.

I've had a lot of luck just opening up a WTB on any of the myriad of Spec Miata/Race Miata book of faces groups.

No and I just sold in April. Wasn't the prettiest design but it would pass tech as long as your welding skills are good.

Had some free time today. Spec Miata people are friendly. Don't know why they all crash into each other. Talked to a couple of shops. Nothing available right now but one guy is going to check with some people for me.

Dusterdb13 and I actually talked about that one before. Trying to decide if I'm ready to pull the trigger at that price. Thanks for reminding me of it.
