I just sold my M3 on Racingjunk. I always use the shotgun approach with all the free sites. Marque-related forums, Craigslist, RJ, here, Corner-Carvers, etc. If it goes a few weeks without being sold, then I consider the pay sites like eBay or Autotrader.
I fear that your best option may be to talk to me about this car. I'm in Connecticut.

if I were in the market for a 944.. your car would be very near the top of the list
I sold my ’86 944 automatic (Which was my daily driver for 10 years) on here a couple years ago and it didn’t cost me a dime to list it… 944 central
I put a bunch of pictures up on photobucket.com to show all the work I had done and the general condition of things.
A friendly dude e mailed me with in a week and he and his girlfriend drove down from South Carolina, bought it with a $3,000 wad of cash after a bit of haggling (I asked $3500) and drove the 944 back to his place and out of my life. :)
After the sale I thanked who ever was running the website and exchanged several e mails back and fourth, BS’ing about this and that… All in all, a very enjoyable experience.
