Never had this experience with cars, really. Never had the opportunity for them, and the one time I did bite the bullet, I only just broke even because of the storage costs.
Guitars though? I could write a book. I don't really regret any of them, because I've owned so many and know another will come along, but I do wonder about some. Mostly the bottom end stuff that I can buy for $50, put $10 to $25 into them, and then sell them (usually to a pawn shop) for $100 to $200.
The free Buick I passed on because I already had four cars and no place to put the Buick. Also, no real use for the Buick. I work from home so I don't drive all that much and the wife drives about 4 miles to her work in town.
Ahhh, you are killing me here... Dwelling on chances lost just stinks... But here we go.
1956 Pontiac 4 door. Chieftain I guess. 1963 Galaxie 500. 1964 Fairlane.
All three of these were sitting in wife's parents yard when I was dating her. Along with some big Ford wagon with woodgrain and a 390. Also had an old 67ish Ford big block pick up that ran and drove... Dad in law hauled his gutter machine around in it. Funny thing. The pick up was rat rod before that term even existed...
Just remembered: I client of mine had a 1998 supercharged Riviera she wanted to give me. I had no room for it.
Another client asked me if I wanted their black W123 Benz Diesel they used as their Martha's Vineyard car. Same deal, no room. They ended up giving it to their paint contractor.
86 Nissan S12 - precursor to the 240SX, and oft confused with an AE86 (and one of my favorite cars from my youth) - Was for sale locally, running, driving, and almost stopping for $450, with a title.
