The fiance needs a newer ride hear in our new home in Northern Virginia. Her 2000 Accord has been great, but it has had some issues and with a baby on the way I want her to have something a bit more new. She would take the WRX but the traffic here and driving stick, she just doesn't feel comfortable in it.
We are thinking TSX (even a higher mileage one), Fit (1st of 2nd gen), or 8th gen Civic 4-door. I've owned 2 of the three, wish I had my 8th gen Si back, loved the Fit because of the versatility, and TSX just seems like it would be awesome bc of luxury factor.
In the end it comes down what she wants. But give her some good reading material because she believes everything on the interwebz.
I had a WRX and a baby at the same time. The WRX really is too small to be a good baby hauler.
I have the 2012 hatch version, but yes I agree, not much room. The 8th gen civics have decent trunk space and backseat as goes with the TSX. The Fit would be optimal IMO and best bang for buck right now for newest/price/mileage.

Honestly, i find the TSX sort of luxury pretty underwhelming. Japan has, at times, been under the impression that grey was an appropriate upscale interior color.

Whichever the wife is happy with would be the best answer I would think Any would be a reliable, low maintenance car. I've been thinking of a 1st gen TSX considering I'm getting older and talking of a future youngin'. I would vote for one of those as the best all around for reliability, performance, comfort. The bad thing is you will have to pay about the same amount for a used, 1st gen with 50,000+ miles that you can get a new Fit for. I still have a thing for the Fit and would consider one. I love hatchbacks.

+1. I've come across some I wanted to look at but had that stupid grey interior.
All I'd recommend is that you try to place the baby seat in the car before you buy it. That can always be a challenge.
Yeah. The fit is an awesome car, but for the first two years when the car seat is rear facing, somebody's knees are in the dash. May I recommend CRV/Pilot?
