I drove an E-350 "bus" through several NYS winters. No real problems, except with the ABS on only the rear wheels was rediculous. Dual rear wheels helped it go. I had to be very careful in stopping, since the front wheels would lock up and no steering.

Driven through a blizzard in WI in a 1987 E150 many times. That pic was after a 2 hour highway drive. Great snow tires = total win. Meh tires/bad tires = insta-death. Before I had good tires it once took 50' to stop from 5mph on snow. That was a sign.

A 2003 Chevy 3500 box truck was good, too, with the right tires, but the ABS was crazy touchy.
