I can honestly say I'll never complain about torque steer again after seeing that car run.
If anyone is interested in going to these, PM me.

11/7 Should be the Harrisburg Farm Show Complrx Racer's Flea Market (I will confirm) This is the big FM that has major parts.
11/14 Lincoln Speedway (Smaller show, great for small parts)
11/28 Krietz (People dump there stuff at this one. I have bought many many many big solid roller cams at this one - 3 for $10)
we are bringing 2 new cars <<< maverick, saab sonnet ,1stgen r7xrated,porsche914,mgbgt,mercedex 190b,mustang,mgb,tr6,z car >>>> definetly gonna bring something new <<< heard grumblings from the guy that flags the drag race of the fact we keep bringing cheap junk cars to event ,so definetly going to start soon when it gets cooler here in florida . And we are scouring junk cars for worser bribes for the judges.
Karl, I hate to tell ya. My wife has the worst bribe on lock.... I get the honor of delivering it, but umm yeah, even I cringed from it, and I've seen some NASTY things in my time. ( I was a correctional officer at one point in time )
sorry.
Updated pics of the $2010 Challenger!
Currently still just under $1300 total budget. All that's left is tires and brakes to go! IT HAS BOX FLARES!

That's the fun part. As a spectator, I was making bets in my head as to which car was next to blow up.

True! That and you ask any spectator, the better the failure, the better the show. Not that I wanted to see anyone break mind you, but I was honestly expecting something better than a tire flying off at the auto x to win the most spectacular failure award this year. Especially with the Zamboni on the drag strip.

Sure!
It's a 1990 MX6 GT Turbo that i purchased from a kid that wanted to get rid of it to make room for his shiny new IS300.
Stock motor with 175k miles on bottom end, less than 10k on a new assembled head from mazda. Ebay FMIC and 2.5" piping, a real Greddy Type S, Tial 38mm wastegate, manifold currently set up to accept Toyota CT-series turbos (don't ask, i didn't do it), with a 57trim CT26 attached. Supra 440cc injectors, stock ECU chipped w/ Probinator EPROM, Greddy Profec B Spec II. 3" side exit "boom hole" out the front bumper with the wastegate dump plumbed directly in.
New suspension setup sniped off of ebay consists of 2nd gen MX6 GR2s and 2nd gen MX6 Megan Racing springs for a grand total of $330 shipped to my door, and after some relatively minor modification fit just fine, though probably screwing up my front suspension geometry up fairly badly, but it's far better than the original blown stock electronic adjustable crap that was on the car, and the lower center of gravity don't lie, either.
The Nexens that are on it need to go, and it could use some decent brake pads. And that's really all it NEEDS. I'll probably replace some of the bushings particularly in the front, my endlinks, and probably the outer tie rods as well, since i am daily driving this thing.
Depending on budget and my level of confidence i may start piecing together a megasquirt setup and throw some bigger injectors and a T70 that i have lying around. I imagine that would make it completely useless for autox, though. It already has a hard time putting the power to the ground through the better part of 3rd gear, hence the 1/4 mile time in my signature.
It's not in any danger of getting Top 10 because of it's inherent characteristics and my driving, but it'll be a hell of a fun time!
I saw pics of your car and about crapped myself, though. That's a BEAUTIFUL "egg" you've got there.
2 words.....DRAG SLICKS.... they're you're friend in a FWD monster like that. That trap speed is "almost" in line with some of Andy's speeds, though you're gonna have to make it hook to get the times down.

Yep. I agree. Budget will again dictate that, though. I'm pretty confident that with some halfway decent tires of the summer variety i could get deep 12s in it, though. Budget on the front end, and on the back end when i grenade the semi-fragile transmission when the car sees full traction in 2nd gear for the first time. I'd rather be spinning tires than destroying gears personally.
But yeahh... slicks would guarantee me a pretty interesting drag time i'm sure. If the T70 does find it's way onto the car with some large injectors, then i'll have to find a way to get slicks on it. If i end up sticking with the 57trim, then i'll probably just live with some decent summer tires.
I was REALLY skeptical when i saw people posting their 112mph traps on these cars with stock turbos. And then i took this car to the track, and now i understand. Most memorable moment was ALMOST getting beat by an all-motor Honda. I had to chase him all the way down the track, at one point he was easily 10 cars out on me, then the harsh reality of a 98mph trap vs. 118mph trap reared it's ugly head on him and i ran past him. He was very confused.
Wasn't there a turbo FWD Mopar trapping in the mid-hi 120s this year?
My game plan has me bringing 2 cars, though, I don't see that happening logistically. I really want to pull the Miata out of mothballs and built it into something totally different (using parts from an Escort ZX2), but that may have to wait another year. Work on the Tracer will begin, again, in a few weeks. Strangely, I'm quite anxious to get starated.

How's about i bring my EGT to you, and you do an AWD conversion, yes yes?
My girlfriend has been reading your build thread over on FEOA, and bugs me about wanting to do it, not realizing that i don't have those kind of skills.
So... anyone have a cheap wet shot nitrous kit sitting around? I "need" a backup in case I can't fit a turbo into my build costs.

I have one. I was thinking about spraying the 2.anchor in the back of the Fiero for the $2009 and opted not to. Nitrous just isn't my bag, plus I wouldn't have had time to work out the details and it would have been my first time using nitrous. In other words, it would have been a recipe for disaster in my case. Here's what I got:

I'll sell it for what I have into it (plus shipping, of course). Let me know if you're interested.

For the price of the nitrous addition, I can swap a plethora of different GM engines in that will make more power than the 2.anchor+nitrous and stay reliable doing it, maybe even shed a few pounds doing it. That's the most attractive part about a Fiero...easy engine swaps in any flavor from ecotec to Northstar and everything in between.

Why not? :)
My goal is to have my motorcycle ready for the $2010 so that I can roll with the Team Gutty scooter gang.

I was thinking the same thing about my cb200.

What skill? Make it a family thing, get her out there gutting and brush painting a $500 gem and then go have a good time. You'll have something to tell the grandkids.

Good thinking :) I picked up a NOS sniper kit with a full bottle on the way back from Gainesville for $130 for the same reason. 18hrs in a van with an air card is dangerous...

Thankfully I'm fairly safe from some of that... having almost all my stuff together already. Just realized I wanted to do it right so skipped the 2months of cramming for 2009.
I need a deal that low to consider it though. I'm not a nitrous fan... but it would be the cheapest 1/4mile booster.
